1900

New Baptist Chapel in Northchurch High Street opens.

1909

Reorganisation of local government boundaries results in the loss of Gossoms End and the eastern part of Northchurch Parish to Berkhamsted Urban District Council.

1914 - 1918

More than two hundred young men from Northchurch fight in the war. Over fifty of them would not return.

1920

Unveiling of the Northchurch War Memorial.

1939 – 1945

A further fifteen names are added to the War Memorial.

Post 1945

Expansion of housing in the area on land formerly the estates of some of the ‘large houses’.
